Suzlon and Yanara Extend Partnership with 306 MW Wind Turbine Orders in Rajasthan
Suzlon Group and Yanara have extended their partnership by signing two new wind contracts totaling 153 MW each for Yanara's firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects in Barmer, Rajasthan. The collaboration strengthens Suzlon's wind energy market leadership in the state, while Yanara expands its pioneering multi-technology clean energy portfolio.
Market Leadership and Project Details
With over 2.3 GW of installed capacity and a 44% market share in Rajasthan, Suzlon has played a key role in the state's growth as one of India's leading renewable energy hubs. The company leads Rajasthan's wind energy market, accounting for 44% of the state's 5.2 GW wind capacity. Suzlon is currently executing other large engineering, procurement and construction projects in the state totaling 791 MW.
Across Yanara's two FDRE projects in Barmer, aggregating to about 800 MWp, Suzlon will install a total of 102 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators with hybrid lattice towers, each rated at 3 MW. The generated power will partially fulfill Yanara's obligations under its power purchase agreements with various utilities, including NTPC and NHPC.
Strategic Partnership Development
The two Rajasthan projects come in quick succession after Yanara's 115 MW co-located solar-wind hybrid project in Maharashtra, which is nearing completion and includes 29.4 MW Suzlon wind order. This represents two repeat orders from Yanara in a single year, demonstrating the strength of the partnership between the companies.
Yanara is building a grid-scale portfolio of hybrid renewable projects that combine solar, wind, and energy storage to deliver round-the-clock clean power, furthering India's goal of universal energy access and its 500 GW non-fossil energy capacity target by 2030.
