China Energy Engineering Group Co. Ltd

China Energy Engineering Group Co. (CEEC) incorporated in 2011 with permission from the China State Council, consisting of China Gezhouba Group China Electricity Consulting Group, is one of the largest solar EPC companies in the world. 

It has an installed renewable capacity of 51.42 GW (including solar and wind) as of 2024. It provides services across various sectors such as energy, power, and infrastructure industries. Its operations are widespread in China and globally. 

It has consistently made it to the Fortune Global 500 for eleven consecutive years, through several renewable energy projects such as the Three Gorges Project, South-to-North Water Diversion Project, West-East Power Transmission Project, West-East Gas Pipeline Project, as well as significant achievements in three generations of nuclear power, among others, establishing multiple world records.

On 17th June 2025, CEEG's consortium, consisting of its subsidiary China Energy Engineering Group Jiangsu Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (the consortium leader), China Energy Engineering Group Jiangsu Electric Power Construction No.3 Engineering Co., Ltd., and China Energy Engineering Group Anhui Electric Power Construction No.2 Engineering Co., Ltd., won a bid for the EPC general contracting for the Jiangyin Sulong Phase IV Expansion Project with a project cost of 5.0051 billion yuan (USD). 

This contract includes the construction of two new 2×660 MW ultra-supercritical, secondary reheat coal-fired generating units, along with the simultaneous installation of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification devices. The total project duration is approximately 22 months.

On 25th April 2025, CECG signed a financing agreement for Uzbekistan's 1 GW PV power generation project. This project is fully covered by China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure) and Chinese banks.

SOLV Energy

SOLV Energy, founded in 2008, is one of the leading solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) companies in the world. This US-based EPC company was formerly known as Swinerton Renewable Energy. It is the third-largest global provider of operations and maintenance (O&M).

It operates across America and abroad. With a portfolio of more than 15 GW of solar energy projects across the globe, it is ranked as the top solar EPC company by several industry leaders. 

SOLV Energy's portfolio has about 300 project sites built so far, including 144 operating solar projects across the US. 

On 23rd June 2025, SOLV Energy announced the acquisition of Spartan Infrastructure as a part of its strategy to expand transmission and distribution (T&D) capabilities and create new growth opportunities. 

On 15th January 2025, SOLV Energy announced acquisition of Sacramento Drilling Inc (SDI services) for an undisclosed amount. The two companies have been working together since 2010 with SDI services. SDI Services providing predrill and pile foundation installation solutions to more than eight facilities constructed by SOLV Energy.

SOLV Energy, on 9th September 2024, announced that it will deliver 4 GW of solar capacity in 2024 and has about 3GW solar projects under construction in six states across the USA. This capacity includes Oregon's largest proposed solar project, with 1.6 GW; other projects are in Texas (1.2 GW) and the Midwest (990 MW).

Sterling & Wilson

Sterling & Wilson is one of the largest renewable energy company in India that offers MEP(Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) & EPC services. It delivers EPC and MEP services for solar energy and other sectors, such as power and data centers. 

They achieved a milestone of 268 global solar projects ranging from 1 MWp (Megawatt peak) to 1,177 MWp. Its global portfolio includes an EPC Portfolio of 19.4 GWp (Giga Watt peak) and an O&M of 8.22 GWp. 

Sterling & Wilson was recognized by Wood Mackenzie's Global PV O&M Report 2020 and ranked 1st in India and 2nd globally. Its services include solar PV and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). It was incorporated on 13th June 1974 but ventured into the solar epc in 2011 in India. Anantapur Solar Project is one of its largest solar farm in India. 

It secured its first EPC project of 50 Mwp in India. It completed its first turnkey solar EPC project in Rajasthan and entered the International market for operations in 2013. It secured its first international solar epc project of 90 MWp in South Africa in 2014. In 2019, IHS Markit was recognized as the world's largest solar EPC solutions service provider. In 2022, Reliance New Energy secured a 40% stake in Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy.

On 14th August 2025, Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy was declared as lowest bidder (L1) from PSU Developer for solar PV project in Gujarat. It secured a turn-key EPC package to develop 245 MW (AC) grid connected Solar PV Project in Gujarat, India.

On 13th February 2025, Morgan Stanley announced it has acquired 1.5% stake in Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) for INR 103 crores through open market transaction.
 

Mortenson Solar

Mortenson Solar is a solar epc company offering services from pre-construction to commissioning solar, storage and renewable energy projects.  

It has more than 15 years of experience and has a total solar installed capacity of 10+  GW through 90+ projects across 17 states in the US.

Power Construction Corporation of China LTD

Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) is an integrated construction group that provides epc services in terms of planning design, engineering construction, investment and financing, equipment manufacturing, and operation management.

It is one of the world's largest solar epc contractors that performs business in more than 130 countries and regions around the world. It has a portfolio of delivering epc services in power, solar, wind, hydro, pumped storage hydropower, nuclear, thermal, transmission, biomass, and transportation sectors. 

PowerChina was founded in 2009, and is headquartered in Beijing, China. It has constructed and implemented solar projects in about 30 countries around the world, including Oman, Vietnam, Mexico, and Argentina.

On 20th August 2025, PowerChina launched a 60 GW PV racking framework procurement tender between 2025 to 2027. The tender will identify prequalified suppliers of PV fixed racking to PowerChina under a two-year framework agreement.

On 22nd January 2025, POWERCHINA signed a EPC contract for the Round 5 MAS and AHK2 Solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The MAS and AHK2 projects is among the four subprojects under Round 5 National Renewable Energy program (NREP) with a total installed capacities of 1,250 MW and 500 MW respectively.   

First Solar

First Solar is one of the renowned EPC contractors known to develop, construct, finance, engineer, and operate the world's largest grid-connected PV power plants. Its portfolio covers epc project like Topaz Solar farm, which is one of the biggest solar farms in the US.

Eiffage Energie Systemes is a French-based company that designs, builds, operates, and maintains industrial, electrical and energy systems. Eiffage is a benchmark in BOS (Balance of Solar PV Systems) EPC construction and installation of solar PV (photovoltaic) in Spain and overseas.

Its expertise includes facilitating design, supply of materials such as (solar modules, inverters, and structure) and optimization of solar PV facilities. 

This solar company was incorporated in 2008, with its first turnkey project, Amareleja photovoltaic solar plant in Portugal. Its other solar EPC projects with a capacity of 1,102 MW PV power is built across Spain, Mexico, Chile and Jamaica.
