The solar panel manufacturers in the UK continue to witness sustained growth in the country's solar industry. According to Blackridge Research's Global Solar PV Market Report, about 18 GW of solar capacity was installed as of Q1 2025. From ground-mounted solar projects to residential rooftops and commercial buildings, the solar PV market in the UK continues to deliver towards the country's Clean Power by 2030 Goal.

As the industry expands, several manufacturers continue to play a significant role, contributing to the country's Clean Power 2030. Below is the list of solar panel manufacturers in the UK arranged in alphabetical order.

AES Solar

AES Solar was established in 1979 in the North-East of Scotland. It was the first company to manufacture solar thermal panels in Western Europe. Known to design, supply, and install solar thermal PV panels, it is one of the well-known players in the UK solar market.

Their products and services include:

• Solar PV panels- They offer both monocrystalline and polycrystalline PV panels.

• Solar Thermal panels- They are known for their own "Luminary" solar thermal collectors designed for both thermal, commercial, and heating purposes.

• Battery storage- They are renowned installers of battery storage systems,  including Tesla Powerwall.

• Off-grid systems- They provide power solutions that are not connected to the national electricity grid.

• Service and maintenance- Apart from products, they also offer design, solar panel installation, and maintenance services for residential solar panels and commercial solar panels.

In July 2025, AES Solar announced it had achieved a significant milestone of the 1000th installation using its Solar Edge technology.

BIPVCo

BIPVCo was established back in 2015 after a collaborative research between Tata Steel LCRI (Low Carbon Research Institute) and Swansea University, with support from the Welsh Government.

It is renowned for its integrated photovoltaic roofing solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. BIPVCo specializes in manufacturing lightweight, thin-film flexible solar modules. Their product portfolio includes:

• Flextron: It is a "peel and stick" flexible solar module that is lightweight and can be applied to various roofing systems, including metal and membrane roofs.

• METEKTRON: It is a lightweight, retrofit solar PV system for industrial and commercial buildings and consists of CIGS thin-film solar panels bonded directly to an aluminum cassette. This is best suitable for roofs that cannot support the weight of a conventional solar array.

GB-SOL

GB-SOL, founded in 1994, is one of the largest solar panel manufacturers and distributors with its head office in Pontypridd, Cardiff. It is a spin-out from Cardiff University and has been leading the solar power generation for decades. It has been manufacturing a wide range of projects such as:

The partnership was announced in 2020, when Viridian Solar’s BIPV into Marley’s range of roofing products.

Oxford PV

Oxford PV was established in 2010 as a spin-out from the University of Oxford. Focused on developing and commercialising perovskite-based solar technology. The solar panels built based on Oxford PV’s perovskite solar cell technology generate more power.

It is headquartered in Yarnton, Oxfordshire, UK. Their product portfolio:

Verditek Solar Ltd

Verditek Solar Limited was newly formed in February 2024. It acquired Verditek Solar Italy from Verditek PLC in September 2024. It is headquartered in London, UK, and is known to deliver thin, lightweight, semi-flexible solar panels.

These panels are ten times lighter than the conventional panels. They use high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cells integrated into a lightweight polymer laminate panel.
