Adani Green Starts Operations of the World's Largest Renewable Energy Park at Khavda, Gujarat

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has operationalized 551 MW of solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat, supplying power to the national grid. AGEL initiated the first phase of power generation within 12 months of commencing work on the Khavda renewable energy park, focusing on developing basic infrastructure such as roads and connectivity and establishing a self-sustaining social ecosystem.

 

AGEL aims to develop 30 GW of renewable energy capacity at this park, with an estimated project cost of around USD 19 billion, covering various aspects of the renewable energy infrastructure.


 

The planned capacity is expected to become operational within the next five years from the project's commencement. Upon completion, the Khavda renewable energy park will rank among the world's largest renewable energy installations. It is projected to supply energy equivalent to powering 16.1 million homes annually and generate 81 billion units of clean electricity. Moreover, the park is anticipated to create over 15,000 employment opportunities, contributing to the local and national economies.
